A majority of American adults have at least some college education, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. That’s a lot of people! And yet, if you think about it, they’re not all that well-educated in statistics—at least not yet. That’s why I’m writing this blog post: to show how easy it is to succeed with statistics! It might seem intimidating at first, but once you learn the basics and put them into practice every day or two, things will start falling into place quite nicely (and quickly).

Statistics is more intuitive than you might think.

Statistics is a method of collecting and analyzing data. Making observations, forming hypotheses, and testing them are part of the scientific process. Statistics has many applications in all areas of science, including biology, economics, and medicine, to name just a few. Statistics has wide applications both within and outside the science realm.

By gaining a deeper understanding of how things work or why they occur in a particular way, statistics can help us understand the world around us and make sense of it. The following example illustrates this point: if you are looking at population growth rates in your area (for example, birds), you might find that today there are fewer bird nests than there were last year because the number of predators in that area has increased over the years, and this could mean that fewer eggs hatch into chicks who would otherwise have been able to survive to adulthood.

You do not need a strong mathematical background to succeed in statistics.

There is much more to statistics than just math as a field of study and as the basis for addressing problems across various areas. Even though it may seem that learning something is useless if you are not going to put it to use right away (and perhaps never), remember that everything eventually comes full circle.

It’s fun! Statistics is one of the best career paths you can take: it’s rewarding and fun! The data-science field is booming (and plenty of freelancing opportunities are available). There are endless ways you can use these skills in your life and your career once you have mastered the basics.

Statistics are widely applicable across fields, so you may already have some prerequisite knowledge.

Many professions use statistics, so you may already have some foundational knowledge of this topic. You may already be familiar with the importance of statistics if your professor has taught you a class in a related field.

Some of these fields include Medical sciences (e.g., molecular biology), Physical sciences (e.g., physics), Social sciences (e.g., psychology), and Businesses (e.g., accounting and finance).

Taking a statistics course is the best way to understand the subject thoroughly. You can also find online courses explaining some of the basic statistics principles. If you are looking for a more comprehensive approach, consider enrolling in a certificate program or even an online master’s degree program in data science.

Statistics is an integral part of all fields of study, but it might not be as important to a healthcare worker or a business manager as it is to an engineer. If you work in one of these fields and have yet to gain experience with statistics, consider taking an introductory course before diving into more advanced material.

Excelling in statistics can help you in an array of careers.

There are numerous applications of statistics, from the analysis of medical research to the use of statistics in business decision-making. It’s also useful for people who want to pursue careers that aren’t related to math or science but still require a lot of data crunching. For example, it is not uncommon for statistics experts to work in the social sciences and humanities, researching the human condition through data analysis. And if you’re interested in politics or government work, you can learn how to use statistics effectively by studying public administration (a field that uses statistics extensively).

Suppose you are seeking your first job after college. In that case, you must understand which areas will provide you with opportunities like these and then ensure that these opportunities align with your interests!

Statistics are simple to understand if you give them a chance.

If you give it a chance, statistics aren’t all that hard! Statistics are widely applicable across fields and can help you in various careers. It might not seem obvious that I would point out something so obvious, but every time I tell people this, they are always shocked by how true it is. They think that if they don’t have a math or science background, they won’t be able to succeed in statistics (or any other quantitative field). But that’s not true! The basics of statistics are easy enough for anyone to learn—and once you know them well enough, even those who aren’t great at math can benefit from their application in everyday life.

It is possible to have a lot of fun with statistics, and you don’t need to be a mathematics genius to succeed (although you might want to be). Statistics is fascinating; you can be something other than a math genius to achieve. All you need is a good teacher, patience, and open-mindedness about how things work. This way, you can take advantage of the many career opportunities available in this field.
